Inducing Labour with Three Sessions of Acupuncture Treatment

Patient, female, 33 years old. The patient was healthy and had 37 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy on her first visit on December 8th, 2021. Labour induction, also known as inducing labour, is the stimulation of uterine contractions during pregnancy before labor begins on its own to achieve a vaginal birth. The patient would like to use acupuncture in helping her labour induction. Dennis, the acupuncturist, used his acupuncture techniques, to treat the patient. The patient felt strong uterine contraction on her first visit on December 8th and stronger uterine contraction on her second visit on December 12th. She felt strongest uterine contraction on December 15th among her three sessions of acupuncture treatment. Finally, the patient gave a natural birth to a healthy baby boy on December 22nd, i.e., 39 weeks and 4 days of her pregnancy. The patient and her husband were very happy with the results from three sessions of the acupuncture treatment. This shows that acupuncture is an effective approach at helping women with their labour induction.
